Welvanpas Family Vineyards with its picturesque setting dates to 1705 and has been the home of the Retief family for more than ten generations. Currently the farm is owned by Dan and Retha Retief. Dan is the 10th generation Retief on the farm Welvanpas, formerly known as De Krakeelhoek.
The Welvanpas Hiking Trail of 7,5km is just the place to find peace for your soul. The light climb starts next to the Kromme River and goes all the way through the mountains, alongside a river, through forests and vineyards filled with incredible flora. The trail makes a loop and features a waterfall and lookout points with beautiful views over Wellington and the Hawequa- and Groenberg Mountains.
The duration is two hours and there are options to shorten the route if you walk with children. There is also MTB options to ride on. After your walk visit the on-site coffee shop for refreshments and rest.
