Rooshoek will take your breath away not only because of the splendour of the mountains and the unspoiled environment, but also the appreciation of some of the country’s most wonderful game in their natural habitat.
The species you can expect to see are buffalo, sable antelope, eland, gemsbok, red hartebeest, black wildebeest, springbok, bontebok, duiker, steenbok, fallow deer, and some small cat species. There are also a wide variety of birds to be seen.
Rooshoek is only 15 minutes’ drive from Wellington and 60 minutes from Cape Town.
They tailor-make visitor’s trips according to their needs. The best time for game drives is early in the morning or in the afternoon. It takes about two hours to share all their animals with you.
You are more than welcome to bring your own snacks and drinks along. If you book in advance, they can cater for you, from a picnic at the river under the old oak trees, or a sundowner on the mountain, to an olive oil tasting.
