A passionate dining affair awaits you at Oude Wellington Restaurant, also known as ‘the exclusive

Their well-established reputation for phenomenal food and personalised service has reached far

and wide and they are an unique and highly acclaimed tourist destination.

The owners of Oude Wellington Restaurant, John and Susanna Tecklenburg, are highly respected

settlers of the beautiful town of Wellington. They are admired for their teamwork in refined

culinary service, where the focus has a flair of traditionalism, but where meals are prepared by

infusing traditional preparation methods with a hint of idiosyncratic design – culminating in

nothing short of a passionate guest experience! It has even been said that the Oude Wellington

may well leave you speechless momentarily – but will have you talking about your taste

adventure for years. There must be a reason why so many of their guests return for more – a

clear indication that the affair is never just a one-night stand.

This dynamic culinary pair have been in the business of superior catering and hospitality for many

years and as a result have become “seasoned gourmet artists” in formidable perfection. Their

business is personal – and thus they make in their mission to ensure that your dining experience

is both impressive and unique.

John and Susanna are not your average chefs either (and there are some things about them that

best stay in the kingdom of their kitchen), but what makes them so extremely special is just what

they can do with a plate of food! They take it very personally to ensure that every meal they

prepare is a signature of perfection.

Their classic and old-worldly restaurant environment with its impressive antique furniture and

decor along with a unique en-suite brandy cellar offers a setting fit for a king. In winter they will

spoil you with fireside cosiness that will have you wishing you could stay all day (In which case,

you could, if you have also booked into the Oude Wellington Guesthouse). In summer you can

dine inside or outside whilst admiring a magnificent view of the Wellington Wine Valley.

They serve country style contemporary continental cuisine with a South African twist from a

bistro style, ever changing blackboard. Some of the dishes you can expect is Bitterballen, beef

marrow with Pinotage jus, various offal’s, venison, rabbit master stocked belly of pork, pepper

crusted beef fillet, lamb dishes, curries and the list go on.

Be sure to plan your visit to the Oude Wellington Restaurant and enjoy a dining affair extraordinaire!
