Tucked away in the Bovlei is Andreas, an exclusive wine farm that boasts a luxury guest house and produces only one award-winning wine, The Andreas Shiraz.

The farm is owned by UK-based David Croft and a group of British wine lovers and friends, but with the energetic and multi-talented Shaun Meyeridricks in the cellar, things run smoothly on this boutique estate.

Ecologically sensitive management practices have been employed to ensure the production of a wine that is in perfect harmony with its beautiful surroundings.

The wine spends between 12 and 18 months on toasted French and American oak, and a barrel selection from the best individual barrels is made to create the final blend.

The result is a smooth, full-bodied, top-of-the-range wine in the classic New World style, with characteristic peppery, spicy, berry flavours, and an excellent ageing potential.

Their limited output means they can exercise strict, hands-on quality control at each stage of the winemaking process, from the vineyard to the cellar, and everything, including bottling, is done on the premises. Visits and tastings are by appointment only.
