They’ve already performed on rock stages and in sitting rooms, at large festivals and intimate meals. All three pens write lyrics looking for ways to honestly express life. Almero, Deon Meiring and Jako Meyer are now bringing those songs to the theater for The Theater Tour.
Jako Meyer is the voice and writer behind Moses Metro Man and also makes a rise with his solo work these days. You’ve probably tried to sing along with songs like “My Hands” and “Lugballon” and discovered Jako can easily hold notes in places where most of us struggle. You will also recognize him from time to time in soaps like Binnelanders and 7de Laan.
Almero’s name has also been established in the Afrikaans industry. Even if everyone does not pronounce his name the same. “Fire fasting”, “Flood Love” and “Monochromia” are some of his songs that you must have listened to when you think about everything. You have also heard him sing along with Bouwer Bosch and Danie Reënwolf.
You will know Deon Meiring as the guy who sings and writes for Glaskas and Dance Dance Lisa. His youngest short player’s music was the soundtrack of the Kyknet series Complex. Deon also recorded a new version of Kombuis’ timeless “Bicycle without a lock” with Koos Kombuis. “I just don’t know”, “Bliksoldaat” and “Borderbewoner” are some of his famous songs that you would listen to.
This is a review from each of the three’s best work. Sometimes they sing together, sometimes alone and you also hear some of the stories that made the songs.
